MINI-INSTITUTE 2016 CELLO MASTERCLASS

A cellist and Suzuki Early Childhood Education teacher, Adrianna has a Bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied with renowned pedagogue Phyllis Young.

From Texas, she then moved to Connecticut to pursue a Master’s degree with an emphasis in Suzuki Pedagogy at The Hartt School, where she was awarded a place in the elite ‘20/20’ chamber music program. While at Hartt, Adrianna participated in an intensive mentorship program with Pamela Devenport, including comprehensive training in all 10 units of Suzuki cello study.

In 2004, Adrianna moved to Minnesota to teach at MacPhail Center for Music. Soon after, she began a Suzuki cello program at Breck School, and in 2009 she founded the Emerald Suzuki Academy. In 2010, Adrianna established the only Suzuki Early Childhood Education program in Minnesota, first through Emerald Suzuki Academy and currently through St. Joseph’s School of Music. Adrianna is a sought-after cello clinician and has taught at workshops and institutes around the United States. She is also a founding member of the Loring String Quartet in Minneapolis.

Adrianna has been a Suzuki student and teacher, and now enjoys completing the triangle as a Suzuki parent. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and daughter.
