FALL WORKSHOP 2015 SUZUKI EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Ms. Ekberg, a Twin Cities native, is an active violinist, violist, and teacher. ECE is designed to develop the whole child mentally and intellectually by using musical concepts combined with reading and activities that strengthen vocabulary.

Katie Ekberg is a Twin Cities based violinist, violist, and teacher. She is an instructor of Suzuki Violin, Viola, and Suzuki Early Childhood Education at St. Joseph’s School of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Katie previously held teaching positions at the Lawrence Academy of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin, as well as the Community Music School and Newark Performing Arts, both in Newark, Delaware. She received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, and went on to earn her Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Delaware where she was the Graduate Violin Teaching Assistant.

As an active member of the Suzuki community, Katie has registered Teacher Training in Books 1 through 6 of Suzuki Violin, Viola Books 1-3 Overview, and Suzuki Early Childhood Education Stage 1 from the American Suzuki Institute and the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute. She is currently serving on the board of the Suzuki Association of Minnesota. A passionate chamber musician, Katie can be heard performing around the Twin Cities with the Bishop String Quartet. Katie is dedicated to creating an engaging and nurturing environment that encourages students to find joy in developing musical ability to their fullest potential. Click Here to Download Bio
